Import Detroit participates in affiliate marketing programs. This page explains exactly how that works and what it means for you as a reader.
What Is Affiliate Marketing?
When you click certain product or retailer links on Import Detroit and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer — at absolutely no extra cost to you. This is how many content websites are able to remain free while continuing to create original content.
Our Affiliate Partnerships
Import Detroit participates in affiliate programs including, but not limited to:
- Amazon Associates — As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases.
- Expedia Group Affiliate Program — hotel links go to Expedia. If you book through them, we may earn a commission.
- Viator (a Tripadvisor company) — tour and experience links go to Viator. If you book through them, we may earn a commission.
- Other partners we may add over time. Every affiliate link on the site is marked as sponsored.
We are always looking to partner with authentic Detroit and Michigan businesses, brands, and creators. If you are a local maker, retailer, or business interested in working with us, please reach out.
Our Editorial Promise
Affiliate relationships never determine which products, businesses, or experiences we feature. We curate Import Detroit based on genuine love for the city, the state, and the makers and entrepreneurs who call Michigan home. If we recommend something, it is because we believe in it — not because of a commission structure.
Some links on this site are not affiliate links at all. We link to Detroit and Michigan businesses, restaurants, experiences, and culture simply because we think you should know about them.
FTC Compliance
In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 C.F.R. Part 255), Import Detroit clearly discloses any material connection between our site and the companies whose products or services we feature, including affiliate compensation. This Affiliate Disclosure applies to the entire Import Detroit website. Where relevant, individual pages and posts may also carry in-line affiliate disclaimers.
Price & Availability
Prices and product availability are accurate as of the date of publication and can change at any time. Always verify current pricing and availability on the retailer’s website before purchasing.
